This challenge is meant for letting you learn something new. Not by explaining, but by doing.

Why?

This challenge is about an 80/20 move, where you make a little change, and earn big.

Before starting to think about changing the way you use your time, you should try to have more energy throughout your day because, with more gas in the tank, maybe you won't need to change much of your current habits. This challenge is meant to be like an energy booster that doesn't impact much on your current routine, and yet have a big impact on your performance.

How do I know

I don't have an explanation for why it works, I just know. When I practice the Sun Salutation in the morning, I have a much better day than when I don't. In the rare situations when I needed to stay up at night and was tired, performing the Sun Salutation proved being better than coffee.
This is your chance to see for yourself.

Who?

If you already perform an activation routine in the morning, then don't take this challenge.

If you feel 100% charged in the morning, then don't take this challenge.

If you have some trouble starting your engine in the morning and would like to give it a boost, with little effort, then take this challenge, and see if it works for you.

It is not a hard challenge, and it is not an easy one. Now, if you feel ready, then do it. You win when you are able to perform the Sun Salutation 5 times, after waking up, in the morning for 5 days in a row.

What?

Perform the Sun Salutation, following the instructions in the video that you find in the How section. Do it 5 times, just a few minutes after waking up. Do it for 5 days in a row, and you win.

How?

Follow the instructions in the video below.

The most important part, that you have to get right if you want to get the benefit, is the breath. Be sure to breathe through the nose and associate the correct breath to the correct movement. To remember how to breathe, I find useful to think to exhale when I am compressing the belly in a movement, and inhale when I am expanding the belly in a movement. In the movements where I am bending, I exhale. In the movements where I am straightening, I inhale.

Performing the movements to perfection is less important. If you are unable to bend, and put your hands on the ground, don't worry. Don't force yourself, and get where you can. If you force yourself, you risk getting hurt. The movement perfection is less important than the breath synchronized with the movement.

Start studying the Sun Salutation before the start of the challenge, and perform it at least 10 times to be sure to be able to do it right when you start the challenge. If you find that you are unable to perform the Sun Salutation don't take the challenge: the challenge is meant for your well-being, it should require a little effort from you, and not hurt you.

When?

Start performing the Sun Salutation on Monday, a few minutes after waking up. Continue every day till Friday.

I will start the challenge on Monday, April 12th 2021, and will post my records on my Twitter and LinkedIn feeds.
